Arnica
Arnica has been around for ages. and has been a popular remedy around the world. The earliest recorded history is in the 16th century. It was a famous German folk remedy, smoked by Native Americans leading to the nickname mountain tobacco and chewed by Swiss mountain guides as they believed it prevented fatigue. Currently arnica is used widely in homeopathy and is a tradition in European herbalism.
In skin care: With anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties it is the perfect remedy for reducing pain. In oil, salves, poultice or other topical applications it is great for cuts, bruises, rashes and burns or as a remedy for swelling, sprains and pains.
In Magic: Arnica is a potent protector. During the Summer Solstice, arnica was often planted or placed at the corners of a field to protect all within. Apart from protection, it can be used to bring strength to spells and to those that carry it as well as healing spells as this plant is also a potent healer.
